Plus a post record: 49 facebook posts on an infamous boatbuilder that most of us rarely met.  See if you can guess who!

3) Sad news... O.K. Goodwin, passed away Dec. 4, 2012 as the result of stroke suffered on Thanksgiving Day. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years (12/21/46), Glenna Goodwin, 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren, and 1 greatgrandchild. He was 90 years old. He paddled both open & closed decked boats, even designed some of the ones that he built. He and my Mom raced C-2M for many years. They supported the US Team in 1967, 1971, and 1977 at the World Championships. He served as Safety Chairman for the American Whitewater Assoc. for many years.- From Cindy (Goodwin) Wall.

In addition to OK Goodwin's many contributions to whitewater safety, see Coastal Canoeists for info on the club OK founded and the logo inspired by his nautical history. http://coastals.org/about
